I am looking for the Spanish equivalent to this term.
The specific meaning/usage I want to refer to is the social class — the intellectual elite, as opposed to the uneducated, the followers, the masses — not simply «intelligence» as a concept.
Way back when I started studying Spanish, I always learned that «in the morning/afternoon» was «por la manana/tarde». More and more lately (well, actually sometime shortly thereafter) I hear and read only «en la manana/tarde».
Does anybody still use «por» or is it always «en» nowadays?
Are tattoos popular where you are?
I know they have been around forever — particularly in different cultures — but they have become wildly popular here in recent years. There was a time when only a certain sector of the population would get them — at least according to the then predominant stereotype and belief. Now, it is really in vogue across all socio-economic groups and with both men and women.
Does anyone play cards/card games anymore?
Years ago I began collecting different decks of cards. (I have the «so-called» American deck, the German deck and the Spanish deck.) I also have books that describe the rules of games that are played in various countries.
